Raiders sign offensive lineman Mike Brisiel

Following their workout Thursday night, reports have surfaced that the Oakland Raiders have come to terms with offensive guard Mike Brisiel.

The signing of 29-year-old Brisiel give Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp and offensive line coach Frank Pollack a familiar face as Brisiel comes from the Texans, the franchise that both coaches departed for Oakland.

Brisiel went undrafted out of Colorado State but proved to be a solid guard in the zone-blocking scheme that the Houston Texans like to run. Knapp intends on implementing the same scheme in Oakland.

The signing likely fills a void at offensive guard following the release of Cooper Carlisle by the Raiders on Wednesday. Terms of the contract have yet to be released.

It still remains to be seen if the Raiders will move Stefan Wisniewski to center to fill the void there, or keep him at left guard alongside left tackle Jared Veldheer.
