I really had renewed faith with Kiffin as hc now i wonder if this thing will be turned around in my lifetime! I guess only if i outlive AD. Never thought it could get any lower than the Atlanta game but apparently it can. the shitty part is the furture is just plain bleak. I give this about a 21% chance of happening. Aso is tired of Oakland and Al Davis. Not to mention Rob Ryan's horrible scheme. many teams will go after Him and the bank will be opened to Him by a winning team. Al could franchise tag Him again, only prolonging His future somewhere else. Sign a veteran QB! Could have had Garcia if Al had listened to Kiffin. Raiders need a good vet to take this team further. Russell has been through a lot and doesn't seem to be bothered at all. That is what worries Me. His lack of emotion is a tell tale sign His desire to succeed is not there. His college profile stated this very thing. He struggles badly reading defenses, understanding his own offensive plays, does not challenge anyone on the offense, or even whispers a complaint. He seems very content on 3 and outs. When you throw the ball out of bounds on purpose on 4th down, there is something scary about that. I have seen rookie QB's like this: Very strong arms, but no understanding of the game. (Ryan Leaf, Klingler, Akili Smith, Alex Smith to name a few) Russell received $30 mil up front. His family is taken care of. His agent did a good job of selling this raw untested QB and Al Davis fell hard for it. There was a reason Kiffin said He couldn't win with this guy. Kiffin wanted Quinn or Edwards as QB, and sign Garcia to play until one of these Qb's were ready! Both Quinn and Edwards are the type of QB's that lead, and are tremendously intelligent. Brains over brawn at QB wins every time. Al Davis doesn't get this. Kiffin wanted to hire His dad as D coordinator. Al botched that as well. Rob Ryan has been a huge cancer on this team. Kiffin was young and made mistakes but He was on the right track, and His players respected Him, Hence why they played hard for Him. Cable is what He is. A offensive line coach. He is running the offense as to what AL Davis wants. Keeping harris and Green at the tackle spots makes Cable look foolish and puts a black mark on his reputation. Knapp who was applauded for His play calling before He called one play. He has done a horrible job in doing so. He is lost in transition. Knapp as well as Cable will be in Seattle next year with Mora Jr. They both are lame duck coaches going through the motions. Davis has created such a mountain of B.S. that it will take many years to sort through this rubble and be a respectable franchise again. When Al hires Jim Harbough as the next coach he better let Him draft and bring in the FA's. Also need a GM in place and much better scouting. This Russell thing will set the Raiders back even further, because Davis won't admit His mistake. So Russell will be given 1000 chances and it will only result in a lot of frustrating loses. Russell is Marc Wilson all over again. I know most of the media and Raiders fans alike think Morrison is an all pro LB. He is not! watch game film on Him and you will see how many times He is out of position, reads the wrong play, constantly can't shed a block despite His high number of tackles. Watch him closely against Carolina and come back to Me with a honest un-biased opinion. You are wrong about Ricky Brown. Actually your assessment of Him should be directed to Morrison. Mcfadden rookie MVP on the team? Injured too long, cant make an honest assessment of Him, just a wishful one as you have done. These injuries might be a sign of an injury prone player. While ever other rookie RB is showing greatness. The best RB class I believe in draft history. WR's has been horrible, but I have seen them run decent routes and have been wide open most of the time. Russell is either under too much pressure to see them or He overthrows, or makes the wrong reads. Chaz Shilens has shown huge potential. Him and Watkins starting next year with Drew carter coming back from injury next season. Higgins can provide the slot. Walker must go. Lelie keep for 4th or 5th WR spot, and draft one high next year. LT, RT need to be shored up or nothing will work. Rob Ryan must go, and Al needs to talk to mike Nolan about coordinating the Raiders defense. Galery is playing pro bowl ball at LG, but he will leave after this season. Al Davis cut his money, so Robert will be going else where. There is a theme here, and it is AL Davis has truly sabotaged and ruined this team for the last time. He actually will be sued for this. A class action suit filed by the fans is in the works, in the near future. It will be the first of it's kind. I will be giving more information as this progresses. You might be overly surprised to see this thing unfold. In closing: The Raiders future right now is bleak to say the least. But with a new Head Coach and staff, a Vet QB and some savvy moves in the draft and FA's the Raiders can start building again in the right direction. As long as Al Davis is not making all the decisions this will happen. If He continues to do what He is and has always done( Exception Gruden hired his own staff, and brought in the FA's!)
