Raiders add former Giants Jay Alford
The Oakland Raiders added defensive tackle Jay Alford according to several reports.
Alford was waived on Saturday and many believed he would land in St. Louis with his former coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Instead, he departed to the Silver & Black to his former position coach with the New York Giants, Mike Waufle.
The former 3rd round pick (81st overall) in the 2007 draft was a key contributor to the Giants Super Bowl XLII run. He played in all 16-games in 2007, but in 2009, Alford tore his MLC and ACL in the pre-season.
