Oakland Raiders All-Pro punter Shane Lechler will host his first invitational golf tournament on June 25^th at the Stephen F. Austin Country Club.

Raising Academic Performance (RAP) will help sponsor the event along with Lechler, an organization that was started in August of 2005 whose purpose is to originate, implement, and operate a state-of-the-art mentoring program. It implements mentor training, speakers, tutors, awareness programs, scholarships, summer programs, liability insurance and counseling, via volunteers and charitable donations because the organization is not funded by the state or taxes.

The four-person scramble entry fee is $100 a player. This includes green fees, cart, tee prizes, one dinner ticket, beverages, sausage wrap lunch, prizes and fun. Registration will be at 11:30 a.m. and shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. at the SFA golf course. To sign up, call (979) 885-2811.

Lechler will be in attendance to take photos and sign items for participants.
