The California Department of Veterans Affairs (Cal Vet) welcomed long time friend and supporter Willie Brown back to the Yountville Veterans Home which houses some 1,100 vets; spanning from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cal Vet not only hosts celebrities visits. The organization also reaches out to California vets to assist them with much needed housing, employment, education, health care, and a plethora of other resources that many have trouble obtaining or finding whether that be due to discrimination by civilian employers or impairment from a disability to not having the up-to-date technological skills needed in today’s world or being there for those who are in dire need of crisis intervention 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
If you are a veteran or know of one and that vet lives in the state of California and you wish to donate time, money, or resources to help those who have sacrificed so much for us, you can call 1 (800) 952-5626. Or if you would like to partner with Cal Vet, please get a hold of Carolyn Ballou at (916) 653-1355 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
